A bit :(
I'll have pics probably tomorrow of the plastering progress, which, as at lunch time saw a lot of the cornice up and most of the sheet joins smoothed off etc.
We had a call today from the carpet people. The carpet retailers said the builder had just been in to place the order, but the supplier of the carpet had advised that they were out of stock of the one we wanted and no more would be manufactured until early/mid Feb.
Not that big a deal we thought, we'll just move in without carpet, putting most of our stuff in the garage or something, and when the carpet's laid, move in properly.
Unfortunately our builder told us that we can't move in before the carpet's in (I'll have to ask why as carpet isn't required for an occupancy certificate) AND that the middle of Feb will only be a couple of weeks after the house will be ready anyway... So much for hoping to be in by Christmas!
Our contract says it'll be finished within 20 weeks, plus 10 days, from the 27-8-2007. Which by my calculations is the 25-01-2008.

Through the looking glass
I went by the house this arvo (after knock-off time) to see how the plasterers had progressed, only to find I was locked out :)
I then tried to take some pics of the now significantly covered walls, to then be greeted with a battery low warning on my camera. Not a particularly successful blog making day, but a good progression day for the finishing of our house.
One thing I did discover through the window of our bedroom was that I had somehow missed that the frame had been made with the wardrobe doors way too low... they've made them at standard door height when we wanted the sliding doors to go right to the cornice... oh well. Too late now.

Wired Wierd
I always thought electrical wiring was meant to only be run vertically in the walls...
The fuse box is on the other side of that wall.
Due for gyprock on Tues.
Also of note for others following in our footsteps on The homeone forums the regulations say we can't have any electrical outlets etc within 600 of the bath or shower, which in our bathroom means we cant have any on any wall in that room!

Nearly
I went to meet the electrician on site today to work through the locations of power points, light switches etc (didnt have the camera with me again unfortunately).
When I arrived he was up on the roof. As I got closer I heard an anxious "oh $@^*" followed by a "that was close", soon discovering that that was the electrician nearly falling off the roof as he was mounting the evaporative air conditioning unit.
There's also a gas heater sitting in the roof now too.
They'll be running the ducting, roughing in the wiring, and organising the mains supplier to connect the house over the next couple of days.
